Islamabad run out easy victors

ISLAMABAD, Jan 14: As expected Islamabad completed an easy three-day victory over Quetta in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match at the Diamond Cricket Ground on Sunday.

The hosts, who also won their opening fixture last week against Abbottabad by innings, ended up winners by an innings and 125 runs despite some dogged resistance by Quetta in the second innings.

The visitors, who made 161 in the first innings, were eventually dismissed for 294 after resuming at 2 for 1. Shoaib Khan scored 71 after his 86 in the first innings. Sabir Hussain hit 64.

Pakistan seamer Rao Iftikhar claimed five for 97.
