Checkpost attacked

HANGU, Jan 13: A checkpost in Thall, some 50 kilometres off here, came under a mortar attack on Saturday morning, officials and witnesses said. DSP Hangu Khurshid Khan said four mortars shells landed near the checkpost, located in the Khapyanga area of Thall tehsil, between 8am and 9am. The shells remained off-target and caused no damage.

However, some sources said the number of shells fired was seven.

The mortar attack has caused fear among the residents who are feeling increasingly insecure in the wake of the daylight attack.
