KARACHI, Jan 11: JS ABAMCO Limited and Atlas Asset Management Limited have been issued certificates of registration to act as Pension Fund managers by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).

Separate press releases were issued by the two companies on Thursday. The certificates have been issued under the Voluntary Pension Scheme Rules, 2005 (VPS). Under the VPS, Pakistani nationals of over 18 years of age, whether salaried or self-employed, holding a valid National Tax Number would be eligible to participate in the forthcoming pension scheme.

The scheme envisages that investors would be entitled to select their fund manager and decide the allocation of the contribution among equity, income and money market funds.
