TANK, Jan 9: A terrorism plot was foiled when an anti-tank mine planted near a police post was defused here on Tuesday. The mine was spotted by policemen near the Pir Sabir Shah shrine, sources said.

A bomb disposal squad was called from Dera Ismail Khan to defuse the devise.

DPO Atiqullah Wazir said that the mine weighed 12kg and was of Russian make. It had the intensity to wreak havoc in 60 meter radius, he added.

People expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation and said that the absence of a bomb disposal squad in the district could lead to more destruction in case of a terrorist act.—Correspondent
