PESHAWAR, Jan 9: A protest demonstration was held here on Tuesday by Pasban workers against the execution of former Iraqi president Sadam Hussein.

The organisation’s workers, led by its president Qari Masiab Gul, staged a demonstration at Qissa Khwani Bazaar. They were carrying portraits of the Iraqi leader and banners.

The protesters set on fire a United States flag and an effigy of President George Bush. They also chanted slogans against the US.

Meanwhile, the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) has announced that it will observe a protest day in the NWFP on Friday against the execution.—Bureau
