KARACHI, Jan 8: Karachi Urban achieved a slim first-innings lead of 20 runs after bowling out Karachi Harbour for 347 on the penultimate day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match at the National Stadium here on Monday.

However, Karachi Harbour hit back in the second innings as Karachi Urban closed the day at 120 for four to hold an overall lead of 167 runs. Fawwad Alam and Fahad Iqbal, the century-makers in the first innings, were holding the fort with 26 and nine, respectively.

Karachi Harbour squandered a great opportunity of taking the lead when they lost the last six wickets for 72 runs after being well-placed at 275 for five.

Skipper Hasan Raza was the solitary Harbour batsman to shine on Monday as he carried his overnight score from 12 to 76 before he was caught behind off Uzair-ul-Haq. The ex-Test right-hander’s 104-ball knock contained 13 boundaries.

Saeed bin Nasir added just three to his Sunday’s tally of 75.

In Urban’s second innings, former Pakistan under-19 skipper Khalid Latif hit eight boundaries in scoring 47.
