TOBA TEK SINGH, Jan 8: A gang of cheats is active in befooling customers of a certain mobile company. The affected customers told this correspondent that they received calls that they won TV or mobile phone sets against the scratch cards they had loaded previously. They said the callers told them to buy Rs300 value cards, call back to tell the 14-digit code on the back of the cards. They said they followed the instructions but received no response from the callers afterwards. They said when they contacted the company, it claimed the callers had nothing to do with it. Instead it said some cheats had made the calls and nothing could be done. When contacted, local franchise office of the said company confirmed the incidents.
