KARACHI, Jan 7: A walk to express solidarity and affection with Karachi was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on Sunday in connection with the Hamara Karachi festival.

Foreign diplomats, elected representatives, social workers, over 2,000 students and people from all walks of life participated in the walk.

Speaking on the occasion, Naib City Nazim Nasreen Jalil said she was very happy that people from all walks of life had shown their love for their city by participating in the walk.

British Deputy High Commissioner Hamish St Clair Daniel, Swiss Consul-General Martin Bienz, Consul-General of Poland Ireneusz Makles, Iranian deputy CG Majdodin Afghah, Afghan CG Abdul Muqtader Forzanefar and Japanese diplomats participated in the walk.

Meanwhile, the programmes in connection with the third day of Hamara Karachi festival on Monday are Bands and march-past from 4pm to 6pm at the KMC building; band playing at the Kothari Parade in Clifton from 7pm to 11pm; a concert by Rahim Shah in Baldia Town; film festival at different cinemas from 11am to 2pm; free cruise from Delta Charlie Jetty to Manora Lighthouse from 1pm to 5pm and food streets at Saddar, North Nazimabad, Korangi and Landhi towns.
