PESHAWAR, Jan 7: Federal Minister for Political Affairs Amir Muqam has criticised press statements regarding President Pervez Musharraf’s visit to Karak in which he announced a development package for the area and said that people would not be misled by baseless political rhetorics. In a press statement issued here on Sunday, the federal minister said that under the directives of President Musharraf mega projects worth billion of rupees were under implementation in the district of Karak.

He said that the completion of these projects would usher in an era of prosperity, adding that the president’s package was a special gift for the people of the area. The minister said that the president had approved installation of 10 water filter plants and announced additional funds of Rs20 million for electricity projects.—APP
