MIRPURKHAS, Jan 5: Investigation wing of the Mirpurkhas police have lodged a fresh case for double murder of twin sisters against their father, brother and an unidentified person. One of the nominated accused was arrested.

The SP of investigation, Gul Hassan Larik, told newsmen on Friday that Rukhsana 25, and Farhana 18, were shot dead in their rented house in Satellite Town Mirpurkhas on December 1, last year by unknown men. An FIR was registered against one Aurangzeb Laghari with the Satellite Town police the next day on the complaint of Qasim Solangi, deceased's father.

The SP said that after investigation, police obtained solid evidence that deceased were murdered by their brother Aftab Solangi in collusion with his father Qasim Solangi and friend Babu Miano. In order to save their own skin, they lodged murder case against Laghari, former husband of Rukhsana. He added Babu Miano was arrested who confessed his involvement in the gory incident. Other accused have fled.

INJURED: A teenaged girl received bullet injuries when she was hit by a bullet during repair of pistol by her material uncle in Hirabad on Friday. Kiran, daughter of Hussain 19, a resident of Tando Allahyar, was brought at civil hospital.

The Town police said that she was living at her uncle's home to celebrate Eid where she received a bullet injury. Police said the pistol went off accidentally when Tayyab was repairing it.

STRIKE: Jewellers continued their shutter down strike on the second day on Friday on the call of Sarafa Bazaar Association, Mirpurkhas, to protest police failure to nab culprits who committed robbery in a jeweller's shop and a general store in Shahi Bazar on Wednesday.

Shops in Shahi and Sarafa Bazars were closed on Friday. President of Sarafa Bazar Association, Mirpurkhas, Shafi Mohammad Memon said that strike would continue till the arrest of accused.

CONDOLENCE: Corps Commander Sindh Lt-Gen Ahsan Azhar Hayat, General Officer Commanding Hyderabad Garrison, Major General Abdul Aziz Tariq, offered condolences with Major Taimoor and Colonel (Rtd) Tahir Usmani on the sad demise of their father late Risaldar Mohammad Usman.

The District Nazim of Mirpurkhas Dr. Sughra Junejo, DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah, Col.Mushtaq, Col.Shahzad and other military officers were also present. Later, he along with GOC Hyderabad, visited graveyard and laid floral wreath on the grave of the deceased and offered fateha for the departed soul.
