KARACHI, Jan 4: The Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) has submitted a proposed budget of approximately Rs6.4 million to Sindh Sports Minister for holding month long coaching camps for men and women probables in connection with the upcoming 30th National Games.

The budget envisages daily amount for athletes @Rs200, camp commandants and coaches Rs300 apiece.

The number of athletes have been doubled in each discipline while finalising the strength of camp trainees.

According to break-up for men, the SOA has demanded a sum of Rs38,40,000 for athletes, and another Rs2,61,000 for camp commandants and similar Rs2,61,000 for coaches which comes to Rs43,62,000.

The break-up for women shows Rs17,04,000 will be required for athletes, and Rs1,53,000 apiece for camp commandants and coaches making it to Rs20,10,000.

Around 500 gold medals will be up for grabs in 27 men and 16 women disciplines. In addition, canoeing and softball have been added as demonstration sports in men and softball in women.

Athletics, badminton, judo, kabaddi (NSTCC); baseball (Steel Town); body building; weightlifting (Custom Club); boxing, wushu (KPT Sports Complex); cycling (Road Race); football (Peoples Sports Complex); gymnastics (Physical Education College); handball, netball, (Polo Ground), hockey (HCP Stadium); rowing (Boat Club); sailing (Karachi Sailing Club); shooting (PN Shooting Range); squash (Roshan Khan Complex); swimming, tennis (City Sports Complex); table tennis (Islamia Club); tae kwondo (Aga Khan Gymnasium); tug of war (Eidgah Ground Nazimabad); volleyball (Khokhar Club); wrestling (Eidgah Ground Arambagh).

Demonstration: canoeing (Boat Club); softball (Polo Ground).

Women:

Athletics, badminton, judo (NSTCC); cycling (Road Race); gymnastics (Physical Education College); hockey (HCP Stadium); karate (Peoples Sports Complex); netball (Polo Ground); sailing (Karachi Sailing Club); shooting(PN Shooting Range); squash (Roshan Khan Complex); swimming, tennis (City Sports Complex); table tennis (Islamia Club); tae kwondo (Aga Khan Gymnasium); wushu (KPT Sports Complex).
