FAISALABAD, Dec 27: Tunisian ambassador to Pakistan Zouhaier Dhaouadi has stressed the need for strengthening economic relations between the two countries. Speaking to Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) office-bearers on Wednesday, he said economic relations between Pakistan and Tunisia were not strong and even people in Pakistan did not have any information about his country.

He said both the counties were losing money owing to lack of business relations and Indian companies were exporting Pakistani products to Tunisia. Entrepreneurs from both sides could get benefits if businessmen came forward.

Mr Zouhaier said image of both the Muslim countries was not good in western countries due to various reasons. “And it is because we don’t know each other. We being Muslims think that God will do everything, it’s true, but we have to do something.”

He said, “Pakistan is a beautiful country and can earn handsome foreign exchange to accommodate tourists. Tunisia can help Pakistan in this regard as around 10 million tourists visit the country in a year.”

Earlier, he visited the Faisalabad University and was all praise for the institution.
