LANDI KOTAL (Khyber Agency), Dec 26: The political administration on Monday arrested five suspects in the murder case of Deputy Inspector-General of Police for Banuu, Abid Ali.

The ring leader of a kidnappers’ gang, Hakim Khan Zakhakhel, and four of his accomplices were arrested in a raid in the Akkakhel area. The raid was conducted by the khasadar (Tribal Levy) force and Mehsood scouts on Monday morning.

Official sources said that Hakim Khan handed himself over to the raiding party after lengthy negotiations with local elders. The raid was conducted on the request of the Peshawar police as Hakim Khan was wanted in a number of kidnapping cases, the sources added.

The Bara authorities later handed Hakim Khan over to the CID officials in Peshawar, while his four accomplices were kept at the Khyber House.
