KARACHI, Dec 26: Berthing activity was slow as only one container ship was accommodated berth at QICT on Monday, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, one more container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell below 50 per cent as five ships, CSAV Ningbo, Bar Blue, Annie Sierra, Aghia Markelia and Capt. George-L, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, rice, seeds and iron ore.

A cargo volume of 62,856 tons comprising 40,212 tons of import and 22,644 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Three ships, Nedlloyd Africa, Trust Spirit and Mariella Bottiglleri, were due to take berths at QICT, Fotco Terminal and MPT.
