Villagers protest against police

SHIKARPUR, Dec 24: The residents of Kehar village, Garhi Yasin taluka staged a rally against Tajo Dero police’s excesses with villagers on Sunday.

Ghulam Asghar Hakro, Abdul Qadir Hakro and Ghulam Mustafa Hakro led the rally and demonstration.

The protesters said that SHO of Tajo Dero Ali Hyder Sandelo along with police personnel stopped Mohammad Ismail Hakro and his son Abdul Karim last Saturday when they were carrying 100 maunds of paddy loaded in tractor trolley to sell it at a town market. They took away the father and son to police station where they subjected them to inhuman torture. The SHO released them after receiving Rs10,000 as bribe, he alleged.

They demanded of the senior police officals to register a case against the SHO and other armed men involved in the illegal arrest and torture of the father and son.
