Gayle, Taylor named in squad

KINGSTON, Dec 23: Opening batsman Chris Gayle and fast bowler Jerome Taylor head list of eight West Indies players announced in Jamaica's 14-man squad for their first two matches of next month's Carib Beer Series.

Marlon Samuels, Carlton Baugh, Wavell Hinds, Daren Powell, Jermaine Lawson, & David Bernard Jr are others with West Indies Test experience in squad for matches against Windward Islands (Jan 4-7) and Leeward Islands (Jan 12-15).

Gayle, the hard-hitting opener, returned from West Indies duty on recent Pakistan tour, along with Taylor.

Squad: Wavell Hinds (captain), Tamar Lambert (vice captain), Christopher Gayle, Brenton Parchment, Lorenzo Ingram, David Bernard Jr, Calrton Baugh Jr, Nikita Miller, Odean Brown, Jerome Taylor, Jermaine Lawson, Daren Powell and Marlon Samuels.—Agencies
