LARKANA: PLF sweeps Larkana Bar polls

LARKANA, Dec 23: People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF) made a clean sweep in the annual elections of District Bar Association (DBA) Larkana with MPA Ayaz Soomro emerging as president for the eighth time running.

The forum lost only the office of vice-president, which went to Qadir Bakhsh Bhatti, a candidate backed by a Pakistan Muslim League (Q) panel.

The polling began at 9 am and continued till 4.30 pm under the supervision of Gulab Rai Jesrani, the presiding officer.

According to results Ayaz Soomro secured 210 votes while his opponent Sarfraz Jatoi got 126 votes for president.

Qadir Bakhsh Bhatti secured 195 and defeated PLF’s candidate Imtiaz Mugheri obtained 134 votes for vice president.

Abdul Hamid Bhurgri secured 214 votes and his rival Abdul Sattar Chandio obtained 96 votes for general secretary.

Abdul Rasheed Shah obtained 197 votes and his opponent Akbar Chandio got 80 votes for joint secretary.
