KARACHI: Completion of project urged

Published December 24, 2006

KARACHI, Dec 23: Residents of Baghdadi, UC-5 of Lyari Town, have appealed to the authorities of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board to speed up work to lay steel waterline in their locality, as the slow pace of the project was causing inconveniences to motorists and pedestrians.

They said that for the last six years Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road, Lyari, was in a bad shape with many potholes causing frequent traffic jams on the artery.

About two months back, the KWSB started work to lay steel waterline but due to slow pace of work it seems that the project would take one year for completion, they added.

They appealed to city nazim and the KWSB authorities to speed up the work for not only resolving the problem of water shortage in the area but to construct Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Road.
