KARACHI, Dec 21: The Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) has selected squash as a ‘core sport’ for future Commonwealth Games including the 2010 edition, to be held in New Delhi. According to a media release issued by the World Squash Federation (WSF) on Thursday, the decision was taken by the CGF Executive Board which met in Malaysia earlier this week.

It was agreed that squash would be one of the ten sports which “shall be obligatory” on the programme.

President WSF Jahangir Khan said, “The WSF is delighted to be named a core sport for future Commonwealth Games.”—Agencies
