Traders kidnapped for ransom

TAXILA, Dec 21: A trader was kidnapped for Rs3 million ransom in the jurisdiction of Wah Cantonment police. The police and family sources said Ali Asghar, who runs a shop in Hassanabdal bazaar, was going to his Sultanpur residence on a motorcycle when the gunmen intercepted him near Lub Meel in the jurisdiction of the Wah Cantonment police.

The outlaws drove him away in their vehicles leaving behind his motorcycle.

Later, the abductors telephoned the family of the trader from somewhere in Mardan and demanded the amount for his release.

The police have registered a case and started investigations.—Correspondent
