HYDERABAD, Dec 21: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz leader Abdul Wahid Arisar has demanded shifting of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz ailing leader Asghar Shah from the central jail Hyderabad to the Liaquat University Hospital for medical treatment.

Mr Arisar was talking to reporters at the protest camp outside the Hyderabad press club where JSQM and Jeay Sindh Students Federation activists continued hunger strike for second day on Thursday.

They were protesting against the picking up by intelligence agencies of nationalist leaders Dr Safdar Sarki, Asif Baladi, Akash Mallah and others and alleged excesses by the jail authorities against the imprisoned leaders.

Comrade Jam Saqi, Sindh National Congress chief Dr Dodo Maheri, Taj Joyo of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Sindh People’s Youth president Aajiz Dhamrah and others joined the hunger strike to express solidarity with the cause of the missing and imprisoned nationalists.

Mr Arisar alleged that Sattar Hakro, Muzaffar Bhutto, Sikandar Soomro and other imprisoned leaders were being subjected to torture by the jail authorities.

JSQM leader Sirai Qurban Khuhawar warned that if the detained nationalist leaders were not produced before court, the ‘Sindhi nation could resort to rebellion.’
