Fined for serving meal

GUJRANWALA, Dec 20: Special Judicial Magistrate Abdul Ghafoor Chaudhry fined Rs0.4 million to a marriage hall manager and a groom for offering meal to the participants of a wedding ceremony.

Groom Muhammad Abdullah and Hina Marriage Hall Manager Muhammad Sajid served dishes to guests on January 25, 2005. Deputy District Officer (Revenue) Muhammad Ahmad raided the hall and got registered a case against them in Model Town Police Station under the Marriage Act. The court fined Rs300,000 to the marriage hall manager and Rs100,000 to the groom.
