PESHAWAR, Dec 17: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has asked the Centre to ensure implementation of the decision of the Arbitration Commission regarding provision of the first instalment of the net hydel profit.

Talking to journalists after meeting with Federal Minister for Information Mohammad Ali Durrani at the Frontier House here on Sunday, he said that the NWFP government would continue protecting the rights of people.

He said that he had also talked to the president and the prime minister about the implementation of the unanimous decision of the Arbitration Commission.

The chairman of the commission, being a retired judge and other members, had unanimously decided that the NWFP should be given its due rights.

Mr Durrani expressed astonishment over what he called creating hurdles in the implementation of the decision.

He said that the meeting with the minister would help implement the decision and the first instalment would be paid without any delay.

He said there was difference of opinion between the NWFP and the Centre on the certain issues and the matters would be solved through negotiations in the larger interest of the people.

He said the government had always been trying to find a better solution to the problems and the issues between the federal and NWFP governments would be resolved amicably.
