PARACHINAR (Kurram Agency), Dec 17: Political authorities have arrested 20 people, including an agency councillor, on Saturday night on charges on damaging public property during riots.

Officials said that they were allegedly involved in ransacking and burning of offices of the South Fata Development Project and Government Degree College. Riots broke out here last month when the Levy force tear-gassed people who were protesting against shifting of a proposed medical college to another agency.

Councillor Haji Noor Mohammad, PPP leader Hamid Hussain Turi, ANP leader Qurban Ali and 17 others had been arrested and sent to Bannu district jail.
