KARACHI, Dec 17: Speakers at a protest demonstration on Saturday demanded that privatisation policy should be rolled back and the government should take back all the units that had been privatised.

The demonstration was organised by the Anti-Privatisation and People’s Rights Forum at the Regal Chowk. Holding banners in support of their demands, the protesters chanted slogans.

Labour leaders Nabi Ahmad, Jam Saqi, Manzoor Razi and Shaikh Majeed said the government was towing privatisation policy on the dictates from the international financial institutions and was giving valuable national assets at rock bottom prices either to the agents of imperialism or its cronies.
