Killer of four of a family arrested

FAISALABAD, Dec 15: The Faisalabad deputy inspector general (DIG) of police (operations) claimed on Friday to have arrested the alleged killer of four of a family. DIG Muhammad Aslam Tareen told reporters that Hameeda Bibi, her daughters, Sajida Bibi and Zonera, and son Sajid Ali were killed On Dec 11 night. A police team was made to arrest the killer(s).

He said police had found some ice cream cups at the crime scene which led to the arrest of the accused. Police interrogated shopkeepers in the locality and one of them told police that Shahbaz had bought ice cream on Dec 11 night from him. Sajid’s wife also told police that Shahbaz used to bring ice cream for them.

Police took Shahbaz into custody who confessed to his crime. Police presented Shahbaz in the press conference who told reporters that he had killed the family because he had been in dire need of money for his sister’s marriage. He looted Rs7,000 and gold jewellery from the deceased’s house.

Shahbaz is the resident of Chak 34-RB, Ahmedpur in Nankana Sahib and is the relative of the victims. Aslam Tareen announced cash and certificates for the investigators.
