GUJRANWALA, Dec 13: Tetley police arrested two alleged kidnappers of a rice dealer and his son after a brief encounter on Wednesday.

Sources said DPO Mian Asif received secret information that the accused were present in Seilo Virkan village. On his directive, Tetley police raided there and arrested both the accused following brief encounter.

Police identified them as Zahid alias Heera and Shahid and recovered two rifles and dozens of rounds from their possession.

Eight people had kidnapped rice dealer Zulfikar Cheema and his son Husnain four days ago when they were going to Naushera Virkan by a car and demanded Rs20 million ransom. But, they left them near police picket on Sheikhupura Road fearing their arrest.
