KARACHI: Illegal structures razed

KARACHI, Dec 13: The Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town administration on Wednesday launched an anti-encroachment operation and removed hundreds of illegal structures. Over 200 illegal structures were razed while 50 pushcarts were seized in the first phase of the operation from various localities including PIB Colony, Hassan Square, Rashid Minhas Road, Bahadurabad, Old Sabzimandi, Amir Khusro Road and University Road.

The Gulshan town team also demolished some 20 hutments illegally built alongside main Rashid Minhas Road. The action was aimed at making footpaths and pavement free of encroachment.

Meanwhile, encroachments were also removed from Sector 50-A of Korangi Town and unauthorised structures built on 16 plots were demolished in the operation.
