KARACHI, Dec 13: Berthing activity was slow as only one container ship accommodated berth at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another ship with edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 70pc as ships, Maersk Peterhead, CSAV Ningbo, Sturdy Falcon, Annie Slerra, Legiony Polskie, Capt George-L and Al-Maqwa, were busy in loading and offloading containers, rice, seeds, iron ore and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 76,957 tons of comprising 45,554 tons of import and 22,403 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as London, Capt. George-L and Al-Maqwa left the port while Maersk Peterhead, CSAV Ningbo and Legiony Polskie were due to depart.
