New train to Karachi from today

ISLAMABAD, Dec 12: A new express train from Rawalpindi to Karachi would be inaugurated on Saturday, Railway Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said. He said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would be the chief guest at the inaugural function of Pakistan Express.

The minister said the fare of the train having ten coaches of economy class, has been fixed at Rs600 to accommodate people from the middle and lower middle class.

The train would run on a daily basis and cover the distance in 20 hours.

Sheikh Rashid said this would be the seventh train launched by the Pakistan Railways during the short span of six months.—APP
