MULTAN, Dec 12: Police have arrested a man who confessed to killing his son for trying to rape his second wife in Khangarh, Muzaffargarh. Khadim Hussain from Mauza Kabirpur said that his second wife, Kalsoom, had told her that Zahid Hussain, his son from his first wife Rehmat Bibi, had tried to rape her.

Zahid, who lived with her mother, visited Khadim occasionally. Six months ago, Khadim asked Zahid to live with him in Kabirpur and Zahid did so.

When many days passed and Zahid did not visit her mother, Rahmat contacted Khadim and asked about her son who told her that Zahid had returned to her after spending a few days with him.

Later, her former brother-in-law, Muhammad Hussain, told her that Khadim, with the help of Muneer Ahmed, another brother-in-law, had killed Zahid.

On a complaint of Rahmat Bibi, Khangarh police arrested Khadim who confessed to his crime.

According to Khadim, his second wife had told him that Zahid had tried to rape her when she was alone in her house while his daughter said that her stepbrother had rapped her.

He said that he took Zahid to Channi Goth in Rahim Yar Khan where his sister lived. He along with his brother-in-law, Muneer, intoxicated Zahid and buried him there.

Khangarh police dug out the remains of the deceased from Channi Goth and were trying to arrest co-accused Muneer after lodging a first information report.
