Young man shot dead by rivals

LAHORE, Dec 10: A man was killed while a police constable was injured in a firing incident at a marriage ceremony in Shadbagh on Sunday.

Police said Babar Gujjar, 28, was attending Mehndi of his cousin, Shafiq Gujjar, at Bhagatpura when their rivals Shairy Baloch, Munir Baloch, Kali Baloch, Waheed Baloch and Farrukh Baloch of the same area came there and opened indiscriminate fire.

Babar suffered bullet injuries and he died on the spot while constable Saleem, who worked with the IGP Office, was injured. He was rushed to Mayo Hospital.

Ramazan Gujjar, a brother of the deceased Babar, had killed a brother of the attackers two years ago.

The police have registered a case and removed the body to the city morgue for autopsy.

KILLED: A passerby was killed while a wedding guest was injured during aerial firing at a ceremony in the Iqbal Town area on Sunday.

Police said Naukar Husain and his friend, Tanzeel, were firing in jubilation at the marriage ceremony of the former’s brother Akhtar Abbas at Phaikahywala village when a passerby, Sajid, 12, and a wedding guest, Aaqif, were injured.

They were rushed to the Shaikh Zayed Hospital where Sajid, of the same village, succumbed to his injuries while Aaqif, a resident of Marghazar Colony, was stated to be stable.
