MIRPURKHAS, Dec 8: Activists of Anti-Greater Thal Canal and Kalabagh Dam Action Committee staged a demonstration and observed token hunger strike on Thursday to protest against the sale of two islands of Sindh to a foreign firm.

Awami Tehrik Central Vice-President Ghulam Mustafa Leghari, District President

Dr Rasool Bux Khaskheli, Ghaffar Narejo and Iqbal Rind Advocate who led the protest demanded that the government withdraw its decision on the islands’ sale.

They warned that Sindhis would not allow anyone to occupy their resources and termed the sale illegal.

The protesters later observed a token hunger strike outside the press club.
