HYDERABAD, Dec 7: Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim on Thursday said the breach in the Mithrao Canal was an act of some miscreants and he had directed police to arrest culprits.

Talking to journalists in Sanghar, he said he had visited the spot and found that embankments were strong and water level was low which showed that some miscreants, who might have some grudge against irrigation officials, had created the breach.

The chief minister said Sindh would not be affected due to any differences between the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Pakistan Muslim League in the centre.

About kidnapping of three MQM workers in Tando Adam, he said police had made some arrests in this regard, adding that the hostages would soon be recovered.

He said he had directed taluka municipal administrations to clean up their areas within one month.
