KARACHI, Dec 7: A man who was injured in an altercation with some men in Saeedabad died of profuse loss of blood as no one came to his rescue. He succumbed to his injury on the way to hospital.

A duty officer of Saeedabad police station said Khadim Husain, 50, of Nawab Colony came out of his house along with Rafiq and Amjad Ali, both friends of his brother, Ghulam Abbas.

As they were walking to Sector 12, Block 2-C, they exchanged hot words. During a scuffle that followed Khadim Husain sustained a bullet wound in his leg. One of the suspects was also wounded, but they escaped. None of the onlookers came to help Khadim Husain for over an hour until someone called the police helpline 15.

According to a duty officer of Saeedabad police station, police reached the spot as soon as they got the information. The victim died when he was being shifted to civil hospital, the officer said.
