Euro steady

LONDON, Dec 7: The euro held steady against the dollar here on Thursday as traders mulled comments from the head of the European Central Bank suggesting that the ECB’s rate-hiking cycle might be coming to an end.

The single European currency in late-day trade was at $1.3297 after $1.3285 late Wednesday in New York. The dollar was meanwhile trading at 115.14 yen against 115.25 on Wednesday.

On the London Bullion Market, the price of gold fell to $627.75 per ounce, from $636 late on Wednesday.—AFP
