Dismal show by rowers

DOHA, Dec 3: Pakistan’s rowers started their campaign in the Doha Asian Games on a dismal note with their elimination in the heats of two different events here on Sunday.

The pair of Zia Zohaib Mashim and Mohammad Akram claimed fourth place in men’s double sculls heat. They clocked 4.14.86sec.

Out of three country heat in men’s light weight sculls, Karim Naimat and Mohammad Akram from Pakistan returned a timing of 3.39.84sec and claimed the second place but could not make it to the final round as Taiwan (4.34.07sec) was the only team to qualify.—APP
