PESHAWAR, Dec 3: Nowshera District Nazim Daud Khan Khattak has sought report from the public health department about a water supply scheme that has not become operational 20 years after its completion.
The scheme was completed at a cost of Rs2 million in Chashmai village near Akora Khattak more than 20 years ago but it never became functional, the nazim said.
Mr Khattak issued the directives after visiting Chashmai and inspecting the scheme.
Chashmai residents said the authorities concerned had abandoned the scheme after spending a huge amount on it and hiring a staffer to look after the electric pump.
