Road to link NWFP with S. Punjab

KOHAT, Dec 3: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd are jointly constructing a big communication network of roads worth Rs307 million for easy transportation of machinery and oil.

The road network will also link the NWFP with southern Punjab through the Kohat-Mianwali bypass which will be constructed at a cost of Rs220m. The work on the project will start on Monday.

The road network will provide a shortcut between the two cities.

The Karappa-Shakardarra road is being constructed at a cost of Rs80 million and its width has been increased from 10 to 20 feet.

An OGDC field manager told Dawn on Sunday that the work on internal roads in Shakardarra town, where two huge discoveries had been made, was in progress at a cost of Rs7.4 million.—BoC
