ISLAMABAD, Feb 16: The federal health ministry and provincial health departments have decided to accept the responsibility of providing the people with family planning services through their outlets.

This was decided at a meeting, presided over by Minister for Population Welfare Dr Attiya Inyatullah and Minister for Health Dr Abdul Malik Kasi, here on Saturday.

The meeting set up a task force to workout a mechanism within one month to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply of full range of contraceptives to the health outlets.

The meeting reached a consensus that contraceptives would be sold at the prices approved by ministry of population welfare.

It discussed the contribution of the health ministry and the provincial health departments to the National Population Welfare Programme.

All the provincial health ministers and secretaries attended the meeting, besides the senior officials of the ministries concerned.—APP
