KARACHI, Dec 1: Eight ships carrying fertiliser, steel coils and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was slow as only three ships, Sun Lavender and Histria Ivory, tankers, Eric G. Gibson to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of as many.

The ships, which departed included Hyundai Future, Shamrock Moon and Sun Lavender, while Induruwa Valley and Trans Atlantic are due to sail out on Saturday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves also modest where total tonnage fell to 22,067 tons comprising 7,748 tons of export cargo and 14,319 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Saturday: Shalamar, with crude oil, Evgenia, with 30,942 tons of DAP fertiliser, Annita, with steel coils, Soon Fu, Bux Master, Kama Bhum, Wan Hai-311 and Jade Trader, with containers.
