Sindh to organize Basant festivals

LAHORE, Feb 16: Sindh Governor Muhammad Mian Somroo has said that Sindh will follow the Punjab in organizing basant festivals next year.

The governor was talking to reporters at Jashn-i-Baharan and basant festival at the Race Course Park on Saturday. Mr Somroo said that these festivals were healthy activities and needed to be promoted in Sindh.

Answering a question about the latest position in the case of journalist Daniel Pearl, he said that it was a sensitive case and the federal government was trying its best to solve it.

Answering another question, Mr Somroo said that he had no objection to the National Finance Commission Award. He also said that the Sindh government had no dispute with other provinces on the distribution of water.

Later, Mr Somroo accompanied by Punjab governor Khalid Maqbool, District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood and Punjab information secretary Kamran Lashari visited the park and watched different programmes.
