Afiat Ghar

TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 30: Punjab women development minister Begum Ashfa Riaz Fatyana says the building of Afiat Ghar at the district headquarters will be ready before the end of the current financial year.

Addressing a meeting at the Government College for Women here on Thursday, she said the Rs19 million project would facilitate old people abandoned by their families. She said Darul Amaan had already been completed which currently housed 13 women.

She announced that college students interested in social work would be given an opportunity to get training in various social welfare institutions.

In her welcome address, principal Mrs Sabahat Ahmad apprised the minister of the problems facing the college.

The minister distributed prizes among college principal and lecturers Parveen Arshad, Mrs Naushaba and Miss Nuzhat Bashir for their best performance.
