KARACHI, Nov 30: A man killed his wife in Malir on Thursday morning. Police said the couple had a child and were married over two years back.

Ever since their marriage, they were engaged in frequent altercations almost on a daily basis, a duty officer of the Saudabad police station said, quoting neighbors.

TPO Malir Mian Jamshad Inam told Dawn that the incident occurred at 2am, when Furqan killed his wife Shaista, 20, by stabbing and slitting her throat.

Following the incident, he escaped from the house, but was subsequently arrested by the operations wing of police, the TPO asserted.

ACCIDENT: Two persons, including a policeman, died in road accidents in different parts of the city Thursday.

A motorcyclist died in a road accident in Orangi Town on Thursday. Police said Pervaiz was riding on his motorcycle when a speeding truck hit him on Shahrah-i-Orangi. He died before he could be shifted to the hospital.

In another accident, a head constable died in a road accident on Mauripur Road.

Waheedur Rehman was passing through Mauripur Road on his motorcycle when he was knocked down by a speeding vehicle at Bilal Mor.
