LAHORE, Nov 29: The LPG Distributors Association will evolve a strategy to counter the unjustified increase in prices by the producers at its national convention to be held in Bahawalpur on Dec 3.

Arrangements for the convention were finalised at a meeting held on Wednesday with Irfan Khokhar in the chair.

The participants criticised the raise in prices without any justification in a bid to increase their profit with the increase in demand for gas with the start of winter.

They said the government should take notice of unjustified profiteering by the producers of LPG which was used mainly by the common man.

The distributors also expressed concern over the World Bank proposal to levy tax on the LPG and urged the government to desist from doing so as it would force the people to revert to use of wood and cut trees for the purpose.
