OKARA, Nov 29: Scores of residents of a locality have protested outside the press club against inflated bills issued by the Lahore Electric Supply Company.
Led by Advocate Allah Ditta Ansari, more than 150 residents of Azeem super market area gathered in front of the press club and chanted slogans against the Lesco officials for charging additional Rs300 from every consumer in the bill for November.
They said when the residents of the locality called on the area officials to register their grievance, the officials told them that Lesco authorities had decided to recover the amount of a stolen transformer from the consumers.
The protesters demanded that the Wapda higher-ups should take notice of the unjustified decision.
SECURITY: A large number of people from all walks of life have demanded that the district administration and the police should provide security to the motorists using the GT Road especially at night.
