Highwaymen kill truck driver, helper

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 28: Four highwaymen killed a truck driver and his helper near Mandianwala on Sharqpur-Jaranwala Road on Tuesday night. Reports reaching here suggested that the outlaws had picketed the road some 45km from here. When the truck did not stop, they opened fire. The truck turned turtle after driver Babu Khan lost control over the wheel when some bullets hit him. His helper also perished while four labourers sitting on the luggage sustained injuries.

Meanwhile, farmer Rafaqat Ali was stoned to death by his rivals in Kalashah Kaku On Tuesday. Ferozwala police later arrested accused Amanat and Iftikhar.

IGP: Punjab police chief Ziaul Hassan Khan visited the town on Tuesday and met various delegations at the DPO office.
