CHITRAL, Oct 18: The first ever session of the District Council started here on Thursday amidst hurling of accusations on each other by the members.

Salem Khan, the District Naib-Nazim chaired the session.

The leader of the opposition Khurshid Ali Khan asked the District Nazim to act within the boundaries of his authority and treat all on equal basis.

He stressed that the hegemony and arbitrary acts on the part of the ruling group will not be tolerated.

A member of the Council, Mohammed Wizard Khan, criticized the past behaviour of the Nazim. Other members also expressed views and advised the Nazim for equal treatment of all members irrespective of their affiliations.
