KARACHI, Nov 26: A workers’ federation opposing the proposed closure of a posh hotel in the federal capital for renovation has warned the owners not to take this step as it would affect over 500 families.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, the Pakistan Hotels, Restaurants, Club, Tourism, Catering and Allied Workers’ Federation said that the hotel management wanted to curb trade union activities so it had submitted an application in the court seeking hotel’s closure for renovation.

It claimed that entire hotels were not closed for renovation but it was done in portions so that the guests as well as the staff did not suffer much and business also continued.
