LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 23: A man was killed in an encounter between police and outlaws here on Thursday. Three alleged outlass were arrested.

Police aided by Frontier Constabulary personnel had laid a siege to the house of Rifatullah in Kherukhel Pakka village where some outlaws were believed to have taken shelter.

As the law-enforcement personnel closed in on the house, the criminals opened fire at them. Police retaliated killing the owner of the house.

Official sources said that Naqeebullah, the gang leader, had received a bullet in his arm but he escaped with his accomplices, Zarif and Alam.

However, police arrested three others while they were trying to escape under the cover of fire.

They were identified as Barkatullah, brother of Rifatullah, Khan Wali and his son also named Barkatullah.

Police recovered a Kalashnikov, a pistol and live rounds from their possession.

Rifatullah's brother Barkatullah has lodged an FIR with the Ghaznikhel police and nominated Naqeebullah for the murder.
